Dye Sublimation Flag Printer 2.1m: Start a Flag and Banner Business

10-10-2026

Flags, feather banners, table covers and polyester backdrops are seasonal-demand products with year-round baseline orders — sports seasons, elections, exhibitions, national holidays. A 2.1m dye sublimation flag printer is the machine purpose-built for that market, and it is one of the most exported configurations in our factory's textile line. Here is the business setup.

Equipment list

  • 2.1m sublimation printer — dual-head configurations from $1,589 up to $12,899 depending on speed tier; dual-head I1600/I3200 is the volume choice

  • Sublimation ink (CMYK) — no white ink needed on white polyester, which keeps both cost and maintenance low

  • Transfer paper (2.1m rolls)

  • Calendar heat press or large flat press — the step that sets your daily output ceiling

The workflow

Print mirrored designs onto transfer paper → press together with white polyester at ~200°C → paper off, finished flag out. No pretreatment, no powder, no weeding. One operator can run a print-and-press line continuously because printing happens while previous batches press.

Cost and pricing per flag

Ink and paper for a standard 90×150 cm flag are a small fraction of retail flag prices. National flags, sports fans' flags and advertising feather banners all price by size with volume discounts — and because sublimation dyes the fiber itself, prints survive outdoor sun and washing, which is your quality argument against cheap printed vinyl.

Who your customers are

  • Event agencies and exhibition stand builders (feather banners, backdrops)

  • Sports clubs and fan-gear resellers (national and club flags)

  • Advertising specialties distributors (branded table covers)

  • Print brokers who outsource textile work

Paper series vs fabric series machines

Sublimation machines come in paper-series and fabric-series configurations depending on whether you print to transfer paper or directly to fabric. For flag businesses, transfer-paper printing is the standard: sharper detail, easier handling, and it lets one printer serve both flags and rigid-substrate transfers.

FAQ

Can I print cotton with a sublimation printer? Only with polymer-coated cotton; real sublimation needs polyester.

2.1m or 1.8m width? 2.1m lets you roll-feed flag fabric and larger backdrops efficiently; 1.8m suits smaller shops starting out.

How fast is production? Depends on head count — dual-head machines keep a calendar press fed continuously through a shift.
